The National Park of Maddalena

Parco Nazionale della Maddalena

The National Park of Maddalena was founded in 1996, and it is constituted by 7 islands. It can be reached by ferry boat from Palau, in Gallura. We highly recommend a holiday in this uncontaminated archipelago, where the few inhabitants live only on the island La Maddalena, in the little village of  Stagnali on the Caprera island, and in Santa Maria, inhabited only in summer. Obviously the best period is the low season, before and after the invasion of tourists.
There are many paradise beaches in the park, and thanks to the bridge connecting the main island to Caprera, every day you can choose a different spot where to bathe.

History lovers may also have look at the Garibaldi Museum in Caprera, one of the most visited in Italy.
The other main islands are: Santo Stefano, Spargi, Budelli, Razzoli.
